However, I still cannot seem to get the driver to install properly. I follow the instructions and go to the correct Canon sites. Yet, when I search for the installed driver after restarting my machine (iMac, with OS 10.6.8), it is nowhere to be found. It's almost as if the driver never stays put, and therefore, I always get the error message that it cannot be found when I try to use my scanner. Any help appreciated- thanks. What finally did it was these steps: 1. Run the Canon uninstaller & restart 2. Run the latest LiDE installer & restart 3. Open the "lide30osx7011en" image, and open the"Into Plug-in" folder. 4. Copy the "ScanGear CS 7.0X" plugin file into (in my case) Adobe Photoshop Elements 6/Plug-Ins/ImportModules folder 7. Start Photoshop & it worked!
